UK THE FIRST ZERO-EMISSION REFRIGERATED ALL-ELECTRIC TRUCK WITH FRIGOBLOCK

The British company chose the manufacturer of transport refrigerators as its partner because of its many years of experience in refrigeration logistics.

Frigoblock, a manufacturer of transport refrigeration equipment and a Thermo King brand, announced that they have partnered with NRG Riverside to develop the first battery-electric temperature-controlled truck for use on UK roads.

As a result of the project, NRG Riverside has developed four temperature-controlled distribution vehicles, ranging from 19-ton trucks to 13.6-meter-long semi-trailers, all of which are equipped with Frigoblock cooling systems with inverter drive.

“One of our top priorities is to constantly innovate and use the latest technology to provide the most valuable solutions to our customers. With this electrification project, we wanted to prove that multi-temperature BEVs are a viable solution to avoid exhaust emissions – especially in urban operations with multiple delivery stops – without affecting the cold chain, “said Sid Sadique, Chairman of NRG Riverside. “We chose to work with Frigoblock because the novelty of electric transport technology in the UK market made it important to work with established partners and we knew we could count on their proven products and support.”
