UICR General Assembly 4-7 May 2023

Noi Camionisti invited us to the 2023 General Assembly of the UICR. In the usual friendly manner, we were welcomed in Cairate, VA. Robert Kastner, UICR President, welcomed the representatives of the national organisations who had come to the meeting on 5 May 2023. A crucial statutory point was dealt with right at the beginning, namely the election of the Presidium.

Unfortunately, our long-time Presidium member Vincenzo Iuzzolino has announced his resignation from the Presidium. Vincenzo worked for the UICR for about 20 years and organised 2 General Assemblies and one World Championship during this time. This always with. In addition, he was always the liaison to South America. Robert Kastner thanked him for his commitment with a gift at the end of the event.

Hanna Haanpää from Finland was elected to the Presidium to replace Jussi Mikkola (Finland). Jussi has actively supported the Presidium for 8 years. As a professional driver and journalist at the same time, he was very valuable to the UICR. Hanna Haanpää has led probably the largest riders’ organisation in Europe for many years. Her expertise in leading large organisations will be very valuable for the UICR.

In addition, Barry Lyons from Ireland was admitted to the Presidium. He is very dedicated to the ECO-World Championship, which will have a much higher profile from next year. Sustainability and higher energy prices bring more attention to this competition. This will make the UICR even more visible to the public and other organisations.

The statutory business was all approved. Now it is a matter of defining and tackling the work in the new team. Contrary to previous General Assemblies, no resolution was drafted.

Noi Camionisti hat eingeladen um die 2023 Generalversammlung der UICR abzuhalten. In der üblichen freundlichen Art wurden wir in Cairate, VA begrüsst. Robert Kastner, UICR Präsident begrüsst die angereisten Vertreter der nationalen Organisationen am 5. Mai 2023. Ein Statutarisch gewichtiger Punkt wird gleich zu Beginn behandelt, nämlich die Wahlen des Präsidiums.

Leider hat unser langjähriges Präsidiumsmitglied Vincenzo Iuzzolino seinen Rücktritt aus dem Präsidium erklärt. Vincenzo war rund 20 Jahre tätig für die UICR und hat in dieser Zeit 2 Generalversammlungen und eine Weltmeisterschaft organisiert. Dies immer mit. Zudem war er stets der Verbindungsmann nach Süd-Amerika. Robert Kastner verdankt ihm seinen Einsatz mit einem Präsent am Ende der Veranstaltung.

Als Ersatz für Jussi Mikkola (Finnland) wurde Hanna Haanpää aus Finnland ins Präsidium gewählt. Jussi hat während 8 Jahren das Präsidium tatkräftig unterstützt. Als Berufsfahrer und gleichzeitig Journalist war er sehr wertvoll für die UICR. Hanna Haanpää leitete viele Jahre wohl die grösste Fahrerorganisation in Europa. Ihre Expertise in der Führung grosser Organisationen wird sehr wertvoll sein für die UICR.

Zusätzlich wurde Barry Lyons aus Irland ins Präsidium aufgenommen. Er widmet sich mit sehr viel Herzblut der ECO Weltmeisterschaft, welche ab nächstem Jahr ein viel höheres Gewicht erhalten wird. Nachhaltigkeit und höhere Energiepreise verschaffen diesem Wettbewerb mehr Aufmerksamkeit. Dadurch wir die UICR in der Öffentlichkeit und bei anderen Organisationen noch besser wahrgenommen.

Die statutarischen Geschäfte wurden alle angenommen. Jetzt geht es darum, die Arbeiten im neuen Team zu definieren und anzugehen. Entgegen früheren Generalversammlungen wurde keine Resolution verfasst.
